Hello James,
really want to author documentation using Help 2.0?
to quote Rob Chandler [MVP]:
The Help 2.0 SDK (also known as Help 2.0 Workshop), is required to compile
your help source to Visual Studio compatible help (.HxS) files. Its
important to note that MS Help 2 is designed primarily for **Visual Studio
help integrators**. It is *not* for creating general application help.
Using HxS (MS Help2) external needs a viewer - see:
1) http://www.helpware.net/mshelp2/h2viewer.htm
2) http://mvps.org/htmlhelpcenter/mshelp2/h2view.html
If you need to distribute e.g. H2Viewer to your clients please contact for
licensing.
HTMLHelp 1. x is the current help system since Windows 98. I recommend you
furthermore to use this help system in 2005. You are supported by Visual
Studio.net and many other tools when developing help systems based on
HTMLHelp.

Post by James SmithHi All.
If we author documentation using Help 2.0, what is required for the user
to view it?
Is there a seperate installation program for Microsoft Document Explorer
2008 or is it installed as part of the .NET Framework? If not, is there
an merge module that may be integrated in the setup package?
