Hello,

I have generated all the keywords in my MS-Word document by indexing.
Is it possible to export that index to some external file (html) or
create directly a HHK file out of it?

Also, I can't find a simple tutorial for How-To-Index for CHM file. Can
somebody please point to some websites?

Thanks

Hello,

a really short tutorial for indexing manually you'll find on my site at:
http://www.help-info.de/en/KIT/Creating_Index/create_index.htm
For further information see Char James-Tanny's HTML Help Workshop Tutorial:
http://frogleg.mvps.org/helptechnologies/htmlhelp/hhtutorials.html

But, answering your question is depending on how you are creating CHM from Word. You may want to index *after* creating your
single HTML topics from MS-Word by special methods described above (see link). One note about indexing: It's hard work to think
about synonyms the user is looking for and making a good index.

A really time saver tool may be ZenHelp 2008 for you. It's a Word Add-In and I did a quick test (Word 2007 + ZenHelp) for you
and saw the index from my MS-Word document was generated into the resulting CHM file. See:
http://www.enkeladress.com/zenhelp2008.htm

Further information about indexing with my tool KIT (only for extracting keywords from HTML files) see also:
http://www.help-info.de/en/KIT/index.htm
