I have always used a help tool to create CHM files, so I never learned all
of the details of the HTML Workshop. I use one tool, Fast-Help, that can
remove the 'Location' and 'Rank' entries from the Search bar - and I also
use Help&Manual that cannot.

So, I decided to dig into the HTML Workshop to see how to do it, but I
can't locate any direction there. Any advice on how to control the
generation of these two entries on the search tab? Will certainly be
appreciated. Thank you,
David

Hi David
All CHM window info is stored in an ITS file called hh.dat
Search your Windows App Data area - c:\Docments and Settings (XP) or
c:\Users (Vista).
You can safely remove this file to reset all HH window meta data.

Hi, David,
... Any advice on how to control the generation of these two entries on the
search tab?
You'd need to turn off the advanced search features in the navigation pane
to remove those two columns. See this help topic for instructions:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms670157(VS.85).aspx

Of course, turning off advanced search means that you'll also lose useful
features like search previous results and match similar words.

Oh yes and when you search for hh.dat make sure you enable the viewing of
hidden and system files via "Control Panel > Folder Options" otherwise it
wont show in Explorer.
