I wonder if anyone here knows how to fix this.

Every chm that I create with Robohelp 6 opens maximized. Very annoying. I don't know how
to change this?

If I were in Microsoft Help, how would I change it?

Thanks.

It sounds like you may have inadvertently selected the Maximize style in
your window definitions. With HTML Help Workshop, the procedure for switching
this off is as follows:

1) Open your project (.hhp) file in HTML Help Workshop.

2) Click the Add/Modify window definitions button at the left of the Project
pane.

3) In the Window Types dialog box, click the Styles tab.

4) Uncheck Maximize, and then click OK.

It may be worth noting also that .chm files will open maximized if that was
the state in which you last closed them, and you've selected the option to
save the user-defined window position after first use. If this is true in
your case, deleting or renaming the file hh.dat in the hidden folder below
will discard all user-selected help settings for all the .chm files on your
computer:

C:\Documents and Settings\%YourUserName%\Application Data\Microsoft\HTML Help

Thanks Pete.

I've fixed my help files but I prefer to use RoboHelp. Do you know of a RoboHelp (Adobe)
forum? It would be better if I could control the window behaviour from inside of RoboHelp.
There has to be a way, I've read every word in the help files and tried every setting I
could find. I don't expect to find help here but someone might know.

Hi,

Yes, there's one here:

http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/index.cfm?forumid=65

The setting that you want to change is one of those associated with your
window definition, so that's the area to look at. In old versions of
RoboHelp, I believe you'd get to this setting through Window Properties >
Advanced Properties button > Styles tab, but this may not be the case in RH6.

I found it!

On the left side, what looks like a folder tree, is a 'folder' named Window. I right-click
it and get the Window Properties settings I was looking for.

Now please excuse me, I must go sit in the corner wearing a dunce cap.
