link to a chm topic from word with relative path

I have a word document and a chm file sitting in the same directory.
Now I would provide some links from word to certain topics in the chm.
Everything works fine as long as I specify the absolute file path and
I do not move the folder with the two files. Is there a way I can link
using relative file paths?

I believe that this may be possible using macros and fields. Here is a
